The Ocean in the leading part

Exciting work is waiting for me this week, the hanging of an exhibition at Kalmar Konstmuseum.

It can be intensive, surprising, laborious  - but always the best work one can imagine. There are lots of paintings in the exhibition – there are beautiful concrete walls - hammer and nail, here I come.

I had the privilege to see all works in the collection of the museum and  have chosen works that connects to the installation.

The sea, the sailor, the widow. Daniel Hoflund has started to work from a painting made in the end of the 1900th Century and developed new stories where fact and fiction, documentation and construction mixes in an installation made in different media.

To long to get away, to something unknown and unpredictable.

To wait, to miss, to rejoice or worry for those out on the sea.

In a dialogue between the old and new, between home and away  - or gone – works from the collection of Kalmar Konstmuseum meet the installation of Daniel Hoflund.

Welcome to the opening on Saturday, February 13th at 13.00!
